Job summary

The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for a Technical Product Marketing Manager to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing the end-to-end strategies to increase adoption and usage of Red Hat’s developer tools. You will play a strategic role in the branding, positioning, and GTM for our developer tools. We’ll need you to oversee every detail to ensure that our customers have an incredible experience. As a Technical Product Marketing Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of marketing programs to enable effective adoption, align product positioning with industry trends and product advancements, and increase brand and product visibility through innovative approach. Primary job responsibilities

  • Plan and carry out value propositions, core content, product positioning, sales enablement, and GTM strategies for Red Hat Developer tools to help grow and scale the business; act as brand and category evangelist
  • Partner with PnT teams to develop content and campaigns that guide developer acquisition and conversion; partner with evangelism to develop content and social and community topics that guide adoption and net promoters
  • Manage product marketing budget and delivery of marketing materials within allocated budget
  • Work with product management, participate in the greenlight process by delivering all key marketing documents from initial concept stages to launch and subsequent releases; launch features and update our customers on important changes
  • Define customer targets, market segments, competitive sets and technology trends in conjunction with product management and various stakeholders
  • Guide qualitative and quantitative research with our customers to understand who they are, their needs, and their behaviors to inform marketing and product updates
  • Design creative, data-based marketing experiments to test channels, processes, and messages to identify the most effective way to guide deeper engagement across tools and services, including marketing, customer care and support, training and other channels
  • Craft and develop relevant and compelling audience-specific messages and tools to demonstrate innovative approach
  • Work with product management to influence product developments and integrations based on changing market dynamics and emerging opportunities
  • Represent the product solution at industry events, conferences, analyst and media briefings, and critical customer meetings
  • Collaborate with global and regional marketing teams on demand generation strategy and implementation; scale our content through our customer, field, and partner channels to accelerate sales and adoption of our technology
  • Lead deep customer insights through quantitative and qualitative feedback channels and research; interact with customers, partners, and analysts to understand the needs of customers
  • Work collaboratively with marketing communications and product management to ensure our internal stakeholders understand our strategy, value proposition, and competitive positioning to grow our business
  • Deliver comprehensive ROI analysis on all marketing activities

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business
  • 10+ years of enterprise software experience
  • 5+ years of product marketing experience
  • Thorough knowledge of developer experience and tools, including how developers adopt and deploy software
  • Solid understanding of open source software development processes, methodologies, and
  • communities
  • Proven track record of success in fast-moving, highly technical environment, including a proven
  • ability to learn, understand, and adopt new technologies quickly
  • Ability to develop compelling marketing programs and the requisite materials associated with a
  • product marketing program
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional skills in collaborating and leading disparate groups to consensus
  • Metrics-focused and detail-oriented
  • Willingness to travel up to 35%
