Job summary

The Red Hat Performance Engineering team is looking for an intern to join us in Westford or Boston, MA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of performance engineers, software developers, product designers, and quality assurance engineers associates while working on Red Hat's OpenShift Container Platform. This is a great opportunity to make an impact at a leading technology company by improving performance, running the product at scale, and doing practical development and automation work.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Validate OpenShift by Red Hat performance at scale
  • Contribute to upstream performance and scale automation tools
  • Incorporate machine learning techniques to fin tune OpenShift by Red Hat's performance

Required skills

  • Desire to profile and analyze software performance and seek out optimum results
  • Background in performance testing, optimization, or monitoring
  • Background in machine learning techniques
  • Ability to convert raw data into meaningful graphs, draw conclusions, and present results with recommendations for actions to improve
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux and containers
  • Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures in addressing system performance
  • Highly motivated with excellent judgement and decision-making skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
