Job summary

The Red Hat Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) team is looking for an Engineering Intern to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you’ll help develop the next generation of our modern customer platform. You will contribute value to Red Hat's customers and associates by enhancing both customer and internal-facing UIs. You'll also be part of an agile and globally distributed product development team. We'll need you to have a solid knowledge of programming fundamentals and a passion for learning new technologies.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and extend JavaScript projects
  • Ensure ongoing quality of the application code bases through bug fixes, refactoring, and test automation
  • Collaborate with other developers across multiple departments, and their technologies, for different integration use cases

Required skills

  • Currently pursuing a degree in software or computer engineering
  • Experience with JavaScript or other high-level languages
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, fluid, and high-pressure environment
  • Customer-focused and committed to product quality
  • Creative, motivated, and capable of working both on your own and as part of a globally distributed team

The following is considered a plus:

  • Prior participation in open source software projects
  • OCaml knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of Git, Grunt, Gulp, Sonar, or Selenium
  • Background with the Linux or UNIX platform
