Job summary

Red Hat is seeking a Technical Marketing Intern to work with the OpenShift product marketing team. The Technical Marketing Intern is someone with a strong computer science background and a creative mind. During this internship you will be tasked to develop a new application on the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform that we hope to roll out in support of the Red Hat’s sales force.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities include:

    • Developing a new application for the OpenShift Container and Kubernetes Platform
    • Test and automation development
    • Requirements management and project planning

Required skills

  • Key competencies and qualifications include 3 or more years experience in software technology including:

    • Software/application development experience using any major language (Java, Ruby, Node, Python, Perl, .NET)
    • Experience with user interface design
    • Experience with Linux container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
    • Experience with cloud solutions like Amazon EC2, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, CloudFoundry, and/or Heroku is a plus
    • Experience using and administering the Red Hat family of operating systems (Fedora/CentOS/RHEL) is a plus
    • Experience using idempotent configuration management technologies, preferably Ansible (Puppet, Chef, etc.), is a plus
    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or graduate degree, preferably in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering; candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a technical field working toward an MBA will also be considered
    • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university or graduating no sooner than December 2018

    Applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills and be prepared to work with a globally distributed team.
