Job summary

Increase your technical knowledge and gain new experience in the world’s leading open source company. The Red Hat Commercial Sales team is looking for a Solutions Architecture Intern to join us in the United States. In this sales engineering role, you will be working with the front-line architects that create possibilities, solve problems, and establish working relationships with our customers. You'll discover and analyze customers' business and technical needs, and collaborate with the Sales and technical delivery teams to help them invest wisely in the best solutions from across Red Hat's portfolio of open source solutions to allow their systems to run faster and more efficiently. As a Solutions Architecture Intern, you will need to have excellent communication and people skills, as you'll be a crucial part of the first in-depth experience our customers have with Red Hat. This is a remote position. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Learn from SAs, sales managers, and business analysts to understand the Red Hat market position across a solutions portfolio
  • Use your coding skills to interface with legacy and new data sources to create business centric insights
  • Gather feedback across multiple customer facing and sales support roles to refine analytics for customer engagement and emerging product sectors
  • Gain an understanding of common sales practices within a technical environment like certifications, common use-cases of software and hardware, and current needs of solutions in the enterprise

Required skills

  • Currently studying computer science, engineering, information systems management, or similar
  • Familiarity with modern computing environments
  • Eager to increase your knowledge around modern data analytics and business intelligence
  • Desire to work closely with a technical sales organization
  • Knowledge of scripting languages, preferably Bash and Python
  • Knowledge of programming languages, preferably Java
  • Understanding of modern marketing techniques like social media
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work remotely

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience working with front end technology like HTML5
  • Advanced data manipulation and statistical regression with MS Excel or similar
  • Ability to develop executive style presentation skills
