Job summary

The Red Hat Product Marketing team is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will connect data trends with product and business objectives, and deliver recommendations based on that data. Your recommendations should be actionable to improve overall engagement with our developer solutions and programs. We’ll expect you to have experience in data analysis, to be able to deliver a narrative through metrics. As a Senior Data Analyst, you’ll help guide positive change through knowledge of developers and the tools they use.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate, visually engaging and highly actionable reports and dashboards
  • Provide compelling narratives on how we can increase the number of engaged developers through activities that increase our ability to influence and also increase product revenue
  • Resolve basic relational database queries, with data dumps to spreadsheets and resulting data analysis
  • Troubleshoot issues that require analysis of the data with clear communication of findings and next steps documented and taken
  • Understand, and document in detail, how all data sources are connected and the information that they can provide
  • Use data visualization reporting tools like Amazon RDS, Adobe, Woopra, Clicktale, Segment to create reports
  • Identify and report on data trends that may have an impact on an offering or business
  • Recommend additional offering telemetry and work with Engineering team to capture the data
  • Create predictive and statistical models and advise stakeholders on how to respond to insights and observations
  • Monitor data quality, troubleshoot data anomalies, and escalate data issues to be resolved

Required skills

  • 5+ years of work experience, or bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering or related field; master's degree is a plus
  • Solid analytical skills (including mastery of Microsoft Excel) and experience with advanced reporting and data analysis tools
  • Familiarity with marketing automation systems (e.g., Eloqua) and CRM (e.g., and other related technologies is a plus
  • Great problem-solving skills, ability to learn on your own in an ambiguous environment and stay motivated
  • Ability to understand a problem and own it
  • Ability to tell a narrative based on data and inspire those responsible to take action
  • Clear and concise documentation style
