Job summary

Lead a team of system analysts and program managers. The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for a Senior Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will report to the Director of Marketing Infrastructure. Your team will apply web visitor data and analytics to measure performance of Red Hat’s digital marketing strategy and deliver recommendations for continuous improvement. You’ll also facilitate, and evangelize, the use of optimization techniques (e.g., A/B testing) to direct the focus and funding and to inform prioritization of web development projects. As a Senior Manager, you will strategically focus on communication, collaboration, and cooperation between marketing, web development, and data professionals across Red Hat’s network of web properties. In terms of tactics, you’ll be required to apply your experience with web analytics, digital media and advertising, SEO, social, mobile, optimization, personalization of account-based marketing, and e-commerce, as well as MarTech system operations. You’ll be expected to stay up to date on industry and technology trends, manage multiple projects at the same time, and work with external subject matter experts and vendors as well as internal customers, IT, and operations teams.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Recruit and retain high-quality associates, remove impediments to their success, and keep them engaged and working as a team
  • Immerse yourself in Red Hat’s business, offerings, and operations to become deeply informed on the data, technology, and processes that support the business
  • Serve as an expert in the people process, technology, and data that comprise the infrastructure supporting
  • Lead efforts to unify the technology used to capture leads, track and analyze web visitor behavior, and personalize and optimize web experiences, with the express purpose of generating more lead conversions and revenue through the web store
  • Develop, communicate, and carry out implementation plans considering change management, at-scale operation, adoption, and long-term technical support
  • Manage operational budget, resource use, and contractual obligations related to data, technology, contractors, and vendors

Required skills

  • Experience supporting demand functions and using data to optimize digital outbound and inbound marketing tactics including email marketing, event marketing, web and content marketing, social media, SEO and SEM, association marketing, and content syndication
  • Extensive experience using Adobe Marketing Cloud (Analytics, Target, Campaign, Dynamic Tag Manager, etc.), as well as carrying out consistent data analysis processes across multiple web properties or domains
  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and web diagnostic tools (e.g., Charles, Firebug, Omnibug, or Fiddler)
  • Experience with marketing automation systems like Eloqua and with integrating these systems with customer relationship management (CRM) tools like (SFDC) and other technologies
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience and bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, mathematics, or a related field; master’s degree like MBA in marketing or a related business degree is a big plus
  • Excellent communicator with proven ability to clearly convey complex ideas and data in written, presentation, and spoken formats to a variety of audiences, including executives
  • Demonstrated solid listening, information gathering, and empathy skills for uncovering and defining deliverables, needs, and outcomes
  • Record of using agile and scrum development processes to develop software
  • Great problem-solver; ability to learn on your own and work in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment, across different time zones, and with different cultures
  • Attention to detail
