Job summary

The Red Hat IT Sales team is looking for a Platform Owner to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will provide platform ownership for the Direct Sales team’s implementation of You will work closely with business process owners to streamline new and existing processes and improve overall business efficiency of direct sales routes. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with business process owners to improve the use and capabilities of the system to support Red Hat's sales, marketing, and offering line efficiency and effectiveness. You will develop and communicate a vision for the usage of this platform and see your vision through to completion. This will be accomplished by successfully describing features, collaborating and communicating with the Technical Development Delivery team, reviewing work results, and tracking and forecasting progress.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Work closely with business process owners to improve platform efficiency and effectiveness
  • Communicate vision to the team and motivate them to support this vision
  • Communicate the business benefits of the entire offering and each individual feature
  • Conduct cross-regional conversations to achieve alignment on business requirements
  • Work with other product owners and IT leadership to ensure requests and design aligning with overall company direction
  • Manage global backlog of business enhancements, projects, and defects
  • Connect the business and development teams for build, design, test, and acceptance
  • Work with business systems analysts, process analysts, and business analysts to prepare stories for the development teams
  • Define releases and release and sprint goals; accept or reject developed user stories at the end of or during the sprint
  • Communicate the project within the organization, e.g., demo attendance and invites, forecasting, management reporting, and working with sponsors
  • Ensure ROI and business benefits are delivered
  • Stay current on new releases and work with the readiness team to promote new functionalities

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree; master's degree is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in sales or sales-supporting roles
  • Extensive experience with
  • Channel sales experience
  • Experience with agile methodology and in a product ownership role
  • Experience directing technology sales processes
  • Experience with change management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Excellent relationship building and problem-solving skills
