Job summary

The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for an HR Systems Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of human resources information systems (HRIS) associated with the collection, retrieval, accessibility, and usage of employee information for the HR team’s planning and activities. You’ll maintain internal database files and tables and develop custom reports to meet the requirements of HR management and associates. You’ll work with HR associates to evaluate HRIS software and hardware needs and design new or modify existing HRIS to meet changing demands. As an HR Systems Analyst, you will often work with the Payroll team and its associates to coordinate retrieval and reporting functions. You’ll serve as an HR team’s point of contact for the management information system (MIS) and IT functions.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of system specifications in coordination with vendor consultants and the IT team regarding the design, testing, and implementation of new systems, system updates, and data conversion
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal business owners like Compensation and Talent Acquisition teams, identifying opportunities for increased usage and enhancements of current processes and systems
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date HRIS functional documentation, standard operating procedures, and system documentation
  • Design, prepare, analyze and audit HR dashboards, data, and metrics crucial to the administration of HR, including federally mandated reporting (EEO-1, VETS-4212, BLS, and OES)
  • Work with external vendors and internal resources to design and support appropriate HR business solutions
  • Develop user procedures, guidelines, documentation, and training on HRIS systems
  • Administer audit processes to ensure data integrity, system accuracy, and compliance with state and federal laws
  • Perform triage and respond to systems-related inquires, serving as the main point of contact for the resolution of any issues related to HRIS
  • Manage user access including security and permissions for various systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience with HR management systems, including writing reports, data entry, and administration
  • 3+ years of experience in performance management system administration, or equivalent experience, for a large organization
  • 3+ years of experience and proficiency in reporting
  • Excellent customer service and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • HRIS administration experience is a plus
