Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Strategic Account Manager with experience in the oil and gas industry to join us in Texas, US. In this role, you will effectively represent and sell the full Red Hat portfolio of solutions to a targeted list of strategic accounts within a designated region. You'll be expected to take initiative in a team-selling environment, building a strategy for each assigned account, and following through on that strategy while maintaining the highest level of integrity. We'll need you to have extensive enterprise software sales experience and to be comfortable selling at the executive level. This is a great opportunity to work within a culture of ongoing learning, collaboration, and trust. This role can be based remotely in Houston, TX.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Sell the complete Red Hat portfolio of offerings and solutions within your assigned enterprise accounts
  • Promote the Red Hat value proposition to prospective customers within a highly competitive market
  • Manage the complex sales cycle from prospecting to closing
  • Develop and maintain relationships at all levels within accounts across operations, engineering, architecture, and executive teams
  • Adapt in a fast-paced, evolving organization

Required skills

  • 8-10 years of experience selling within the software industry
  • Experience selling in both direct and partner models
  • Knowledge of and passion for Linux and open source technology
  • Demonstrated market and competitive knowledge
  • Experience selling middleware, cloud, or consulting solutions to Fortune 500 customers
  • Ability to sell at the executive level
  • History of exceptional quota attainment
