Job summary

The Document Management and Collaboration team is looking for a Software Applications Engineer to augment our development team in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you’ll join a the team that is focused on maintaining a set of home grown applications as well as several integrations and customizations to our ever expanding suite of productivity tools. The current toolset includes Jive, Google Apps, ServiceNow, Lucidworks Fusion, and Alfresco. Your responsibilities may involve a variety of projects and you should be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Develop web applications for Document Management and Collaboration team
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and code review
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Java and AngularJS applications that conform to enterprise design patterns
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain REST and SOAP services conforming to the service-oriented architecture (SOA) framework
  • Analyze log files to help debug problems

Required skills

  • Proficiency in modern web and mobile-responsive design
  • Ability to design in a manner that will guide development process
  • Understanding of modern web technology (HTML, DOM, CSS, jQuery, AJAX, cookies, sessions, etc.)
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS is preferred, or BackboneJS or other SPA)
  • Familiarity with distributed source control like Git, including branching and merging
  • Understanding of Web APIs and related technologies, including, REST, JSON, XML, XSLT, etc.
  • Solid prioritization and time management skills

The following will be considered a plus:

  • Experience with Spring Framework (both Java Config and XML configuration)
  • Understanding of web security and common exploits, including CSRF, XSS, SQL Injection, etc.
  • Experience with Jive, Google Apps, Alfresco, ServiceNow, Lucidworks, SOLR
  • Experience creating or modifying existing open source projects
  • Knowledge of a Linux operating system
  • Experience designing for or writing components for an ESB or SOA
  • Understanding of distributed transactions
  • Knowledge of OWASP top ten
  • Scrum or other agile, cross-functional team experience
  • Experience with Linux Systems Administration
