Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join us in Sunnyvale, CA. In this role, you will support our Red Hat sales efforts. You'll join a team responsible for architecting solutions for prospective customers, presenting compelling recommendations, and convincing them to adopt our innovative open source solutions and providing overall technical account management. You will also collaborate with the sales and technical delivery teams to create solutions and present them to executive IT leadership with a compelling business case to invest in Red Hat solutions. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you’ll need to have a combination of advanced technical expertise, good business insight, and excellent communication skills.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Provide presales technical marketing support for the development and implementation of customer applications
  • Answer technical portions of requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs)
  • Educate prospective customers on the capabilities of the Red Hat portfolio and conduct live demonstrations of the solutions
  • Identify appropriate technologies to solve customer problems
  • Build relationships with customers’ technical staff to identify new opportunities
  • Represent Red Hat to the customer and the customer to Red Hat in sales-related matters

Required skills

  • Knowledge of DevOps
  • Direct experience using Linux
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructures like Platform-as-a-solution (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Solution (IaaS)
  • 5+ years of presales and sales engineering experience
  • Technical translation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to present to small and large groups of mixed business, technical, and management audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems
  • Willingness to travel
