Job summary

Serve as a top technical expert and use your business insight to present executive lT leadership with compelling business and technical cases for Red Hat’s solutions. The Red Hat Presales team is looking for an Application Platform Solutions Architect to join us in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you’ll support Red Hat JBoss Middleware sales efforts. You'll collaborate with the broader Sales team and technical delivery teams to bring our customers the best solutions using the Red Hat JBoss Middleware solutions suite. As an Application Platform Solutions Architect, you’ll need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills because you'll serve as a trusted adviser for the Red Hat's enterprise and strategic customer base.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Become a trusted adviser within Red Hat's customer base; build solid, lasting relationships with customers
  • Create enterprise solutions that increase business value using Red Hat JBoss Middleware solutions
  • Participate in and assist with defining account strategy with broader account teams
  • Educate prospective customers on the capabilities and benefits of Red Hat JBoss Middleware solutions
  • Demonstrate the capabilities of Red Hat JBoss Middleware solutions as part of enterprise middleware solutions
  • Mentor fellow middleware solutions architects on best practices, field, and technical learnings
  • Understand current technology and industry trends; connect trends to customer value and Red Hat’s solutions
  • Guide and assist with Red Hat JBoss Middleware proofs of concepts, workshops, and seminars
  • Serve as a Red Hat JBoss Middleware evangelist by presenting to local user groups and at select conferences
  • Participate in and guide vertical and industry-specific subject matter expert teams; create whitepapers, reference architectures, and other industry-specific technical collateral
  • Work cross-functionally within Red Hat to deliver on customer and account team expectations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree; master's degree is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience with full life cycle Java application development, including proven middleware architecture experience
  • Ability to concisely explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and present key business and technical value for solutions architecture
  • Excellent presentation skills; ability to present to mixed business, technical, management, and leadership audiences of all sizes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel frequently
  • Presales and sales engineering experience is a plus
