Job summary

Use your interpersonal skills and professional appearance to make the first impression of our company for visitors, vendors, and customers coming into the office. The Red Hat Facilities team is looking for a Receptionist to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will interact continuously with associates, customers, vendors, and guests, serving as the first impression for our company. You will give directions and answer incoming telephone calls, and you'll manage the visitor log and customer-facing lobby areas. Your other responsibilities as a Receptionist will be diverse, ranging from restocking of office supplies or coordination of catering for on-site meetings and events, to broader cooperation with and support of other teams in the Westford office.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Serve as a front-line contact for associates and vendors regarding all local Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) issues (janitorial, coffee machines, handyman, etc.)
  • Partner with the office coordinator to complete tasks and projects related to the ongoing operation of the office
  • Assist with coordination of shipping and receiving of boxes and letters to and from the office    
  • Provide bookkeeping and accounting support for the local operation as necessary
  • Help update the local office intranet page  
  • Communicate all maintenance and repair issues    
  • Assist with all GWS initiatives for the local office, including global and regional programs as mandated by law or guidelines (e.g., Safety Warden Program, Ergonomics, Snack and Drink Program, ISAAC)
  • Support local physical security system and continuously follow health and safety at work and security guidelines
