Job summary

Lead and support the marketing strategy and efforts for our cloud infrastructure solutions portfolio. The Red Hat Platforms Marketing team is looking for an experienced Senior Principal Product Marketing Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work on developing core product messaging, positioning, and content and help develop and guide a compelling marketing strategy and plan for success within the cloud infrastructure solutions global market. You’ll collaborate closely with the technical product marketing, product management, partner, alliance, global campaign marketing, services, and our cloud specialist field teams to craft meaningful and supporting content within the current competitive cloud infrastructure market. As a Senior Principal Product Marketing Manager, you will need to articulate and promote business and customer value for private and hybrid cloud infrastructure software solutions, including go-to-market activities, sales strategies, and, where appropriate, our vertical marketing efforts.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product management teams to prioritize definition of features and solutions
  • Ensure that marketing plans align with market directions and support the roadmaps for and releases of our offerings
  • Articulate and promote business and customer value from technical software solutions internally and externally
  • Build and maintain solid, supportive relationships with offering-related marketing and extended product teams, partners, and field teams
  • Guide complex projects like launches of our offerings or competitive initiatives to completion within deadlines and with minimal guidance
  • Develop and carry out outbound efforts like social media, blogging, press, and analyst engagements
  • Develop the marketing strategy, tactics, and corresponding budget needs and requirements for our offerings
  • Serve as an internal and external evangelist for our offerings and solutions at both internal and external forums and events, with customers, and at various speaking opportunities
  • Lead development of all content for infrastructure solutions including editorial, expert, and social media content for use in PR, analyst relations (AR), and customer and partner engagements
  • Serve as a cloud infrastructure expert and ensure comprehensive understanding of the market’s current state of conditions through market research, awareness of customer needs, and competitive offerings
  • Support enablement and training activities for sales, presales, and professional services associates, as well as partners when needed
  • Support customer meetings as needed from sales specialists, both onsite and remotely

Required skills

  • 10+ years of product marketing experience, preferably within the area of cloud Infrastructure software solutions (operating system, cloud, virtualization, or storage).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; MBA is a plus
  • Domain knowledge of the cloud markets including key players, market trends, key industry analysts, and technology trends
  • Proven record of success in a fast-moving, technical solutions environment, including a proven ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
  • Ability to develop compelling marketing programs and requisite materials (themes, content, and assets) associated with the program
  • Solid communication skills, especially in written, verbal, and presentation delivery
  • Success in working in a cross-functional environment with a remote and global workforce where persuasion skills are important
  • Ability to be meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex environment
  • Experience with social media and digital marketing
  • Proactive and motivated with a solid work ethic
  • Willingness to travel at least 15% annually
  • Domain knowledge and experience with open source projects, community, and solutions is a plus
