Job summary

Guide technical marketing agenda within Red Hat's Partner Solutions Initiative and other technical and business partner programs. Red Hat Vertical Markets and Solutions team is looking for an experienced technical product marketing professional to join us as a Manager in Westford, MA or Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will collaborate closely with product management and product marketing teams, industry marketing, global, and regional alliance teams, and our technical field community (solutions architects and consultants) to craft proper technical proofs of concepts in establishing and extending partner relationships. You’ll communicate the Red Hat product portfolio with specific partners and relate the portfolio to solutions that partners are delivering. As a Manager, you will help guide technical marketing in support of the product marketing plan, partner marketing plan, and our sales strategies, targeting top global and regional system integrators (SIs), independent software vendors (ISVs), and other partner types. You’ll need to have knowledge and experience with relevant industry technologies like private cloud, containers, application platforms, or integration, while domain expertise in one or more industries will be considered a plus.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Articulate the technical product value proposition and evangelize product internally and externally
  • Collaborate with product management and product marketing teams to understand and prioritize the definition of features and solutions; ensure that marketing plans align with market directions and support the product roadmap and releases
  • Collaborate with global and regional alliance teams to understand their overall charter, focus, and capabilities and provide product information and direction
  • Coordinate the needs and capabilities of partners and their target customers with Red Hat’s capabilities
  • Work with alliance and ecosystem partners through the alliance teams to develop joint value propositions
  • Participate in technical aspects of partner engagements like solutions workshops, webinars, product and solutions demos, and industry and partner events
  • Guide engagement where required in high-touch partner accounts worldwide by close engagement with field sales and services teams
  • Jointly create technical marketing collateral with marketing teams, including solutions briefs, technical presentations, whitepapers, and case studies
  • Create and carry out solutions demos for external use
  • Promote technical thought leadership
  • Track and communicate partner engagements and contribute to pipeline development for partner solutions
  • Create other technical marketing proofs of concepts (working with other teams) specific to performance benchmarks, reference architectures, etc.

Required skills

  • 10+ years of software industry experience, preferably within an area of infrastructure software (operating system, container platforms, or automation) or middleware (integration, application platforms, or business process management - BPM)
  • 5+ years of product management, solutions engineering, technical sales, or solutions architecture experience
  • Domain knowledge and experience with open source projects
  • Proven record of success in a fast moving, technical environment
  • Solid communication skills in written, verbal, and presentation form
  • Solid technical knowledge and the ability to explain customer requirements and use cases to engineering teams
  • Success in working in a cross-functional environment where persuasion skills are essential
  • Ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex environment
  • Motivated with initiative and solid work ethic
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, making full use of other teams
  • Willingness to travel
