Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Market Development Representative to join us in Durham, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for generating qualified leads for the Field and Inside Sales teams, as well as managing Red Hat Emerging Product data and generating new business with former and existing accounts. Internal sales training and certification programs will be available for you to maintain the highest knowledge and proficiency in Red Hat offerings and industry trends.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Follow up on marketing and sales program-generated leads
  • Work closely with Field and Inside Sales team counterparts on account strategy
  • Communicate with marketing managers on quantitative and qualitative program results
  • Gain a solid understanding of the Red Hat portfolio and solutions through whiteboards, customer simulations, and presentations
  • Meet and exceed quarterly goals

Required skills

  • 2+ years of inside sales or lead generation experience
  • Solid technical skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks on deadline
  • Motivated, with the ability to work under minimal supervision and be a contributing member of a team
  • Technology sales experience is an advantage
  • Proficient computer skills in customer relationship management (CRM), Microsoft Word and Excel, Salesforce.com, and Eloqua are a plus
