    Job summary

    The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for a Senior Business Project Manager ­ HRIS to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work within the Red Hat People Team Project Management Office (PMO), an organization focused on portfolio and project management of human resources, business, and technology projects. You'll report to the Project Management Office (PMO) and partner closely with members of the People Team, Corporate Functions, Enterprise, and Vendors.


    You will focus on managing the implementation of an HRIS system and all component workstreams in support of the People Team’s strategy and offerings. As a People Team Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing this project through the full project lifecycle (initial scoping to close­out), for delivering quality outcomes within budget and timeline, for managing the interests of a variety of stakeholders, and meeting expectations of customer satisfaction and business adoption. We’ll need you to be motivated to engage with stakeholders and the project team to guide and enable their success, agile in response to changes and needs of various stakeholders, and analytical in identifying risks, opportunities and dependencies. You will also need to understand the importance of effective project governance and program management across functions. You will need to have great communication skills, as you will collaborate with diverse stakeholders and teams throughout all project phases.

    Primary job responsibilities

    ● Manage projects identified by People team and Red Hat leadership using the Project Management Office (PMO) standards, People Team Portfolio, People team
    governance structure and standards, and related processes and tools to ensure
    strategic alignment and connections, and clearly defined impact measures
    ● Support development of needed documentation (e.g., business cases, project
    scoping, project alignment, etc.) to ensure clarity and accountability to deliverables
    ● Partner with key stakeholders, maintain effective working relationships, and provide timely updates on project progress
    ● Manage and escalate project risks / issues as needed, anticipate client needs and formulate solutions, and in general respond to the variability involved in any key initiative
    ● Facilitate project kick­off, stakeholder analysis, lessons learned, governance
    updates, and the integration of work from multiple teams and multiple vendors to
    deliver project success
    ● Ensure all deliverables and commitments meet quality standards and expectations
    ● Provide flexibility in project management support including waterfall and agile
    ● Guide projects in consideration of organizational change management implications, considering communication, stakeholder management, training, and adoption
    ● Guide the RFP and RFI process for projects as required; work closely across teams to drive effective selection of delivery and solutions partners
    ● Contribute to the enhancement and evolution of the PMO standards and processes
    ● Partner with Operations teams to ensure projects have a robust service delivery model
    ● Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all areas pertaining to data and proprietary information, whether internal to Red Hat or customer specific
    ● Use an open and collaborative approach to working with strategic partners in the Red Hat People team and across the business
    ● Develop project management skills within centers of excellence by consulting,
    mentoring, and enablement activities

    Required skills

    ● 10+ years of relevant project management experience

    ● Experience in HRIS / Human Capital Management systems (e.g., Workday, SAP,
    Oracle Cloud)
    ● Bachelor's degree required; master's degree nice­to­have
    ● Degrees in business administration, project management, organizational psychology / dynamics or similar
    ● PMP Certification nice­to­have
    ● Experience in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
    ● Experience in and understanding of HR organizations and their services
    ● Experience in a variety of HR point solutions
    ● Successful experience in project management with third party vendors
    ● Strong communications, stakeholder, and relationship management skills
    ● Ability to translate requirements into user stories, development, and configuration
    ● Experience with agile and waterfall project management
    ● Ability to manage and respond to change in a proactive and productive manner
    ● Ability to synthesize and analyze complex data to identify potential risks and draw meaningful conclusions
    ● Global mindset, demonstrated professional appearance and approach, and customer focus
    ● Excellent communication and presentation skills; good at working with both
    technology and subject matter experts in the business
