    Job summary

    The Red Hat Public Sector Sales team is looking for a Sales Development Representative to join us in McLean, VA. In this role, you will generate qualified leads for the Field and Inside Sales teams, manage Red Hat’s emerging technology data, and generate new business with former and existing accounts. Internal sales training and certification programs will be available for you to maintain the highest level of knowledge and proficiency in Red Hat’s offerings and industry trends.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Follow up on marketing and sales program-generated leads
    • Work closely with your Field and Inside Sales counterparts on account strategy
    • Communicate with marketing managers on program results, both quantitative and qualitative
    • Master portfolio solutions through whiteboards, customer simulations, and presentations
    • Meet and exceed quarterly goals

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 2+ years of inside sales or lead generation experience
    • Solid technical skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Exceptional organizational skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within deadlines
    • Motivated with the ability to work on your own and be a contributing member of the team
    • Technology sales experience, including cloud technology, is an plus
    • Proficient computer skills in customer relationship management (CRM), Microsoft Word and Excel, Salesforce.com (SFDC), and Eloqua are a plus
