    Job summary

    Represent and sell the full Red Hat portfolio of solutions to a targeted list of strategic enterprise accounts within a designated region. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Sales Account Manager to join us in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for increasing Red Hat's market share and revenue. You'll build new relationships and expand and improve business with existing customers. As a Sales Account Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of the sales cycle, including pricing negotiations, contract development, and order fulfillment.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Sell Red Hat's solutions and services in your assigned territory or industry
    • Create strategic and tactical sales plans and guide the extended Sales team in implementing them to maximize revenue and growth
    • Develop and maintain relationships at all levels within accounts, e.g., operations, engineering, architecture, and executive, to grow our footprint and revenue by focusing on our complete portfolio
    • Meet assigned sales quota by acquiring new customer business and renewing and growing existing relationships
    • Accurately forecast and close sales in accordance with company goals
    • Manage complex sales cycles from prospecting to closing

    Required skills

    • 10+ years of sales experience with a demonstrated record of success, preferably in the software or IT industry
    • Solutions sales mentality in an environment with multiple offerings and services
    • Solid understanding of complete sales cycle management from prospecting to closing
    • Ability to work as part of a fast-paced team while demonstrating flexibility, reliability, and initiative
    • Knowledge of and passion for open source technology
    • Capacity for original and creative thinking with the ability to be open to new approaches
    • Highly motivated, passionate and able to work as part of a team
