Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an OpenShift Container Platform Sales Specialist to join us in Plano, TX. In this role, you will support Red Hat's strategy by enabling customers to define, develop, and deploy their modern agile application strategies. You'll be responsible for building strategic relationships with executives and key business leaders to promote our portfolio of container native solutions including Kubernetes, Docker, or Open Container Initiative (OCI), DevOps pipeline, Development Frameworks, Microservices, that works across the multi-cloud environments. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Work with the enterprise sales teams to plan the overall container and multi-cloud strategy within a set of defined accounts
  • Gain the trust of senior IT and business executives within key accounts and create long-term partnerships
  • Ability to lead a consultative sales cycle, based on solution selling, which includes Red Hat's portfolio, rather than anyone specific product

Required skills

  • 8+ years of experience in a solutions sales role
  • 4+ years of experience focused on enterprise middleware like Red Hat JBoss Middleware, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, MuleSoft, TIBCO, and Appigee
  • Background in consultative customer engagement with an AppDev provider
  • Broad technical experience with enterprise Application Development technologies
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to executives at large firms
  • Ability to sell solutions in a multi-product environment
  • Proven ability to work with global cross-functional teams and achieve success for customers
  • Balance of strategic and tactical skills
  • Master's degree or equivalent is a plus
  • Ability to work well in a matrix selling environment
