    Job summary

    The Red Hat Product Security team is looking for a Senior Data Security and Privacy Program Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be an integral part of the Data Security and Privacy team responsible for working with internal business units and engineering teams securing, testing, and maintaining the privacy of Red Hat's customer data. You'll focus on supporting the data privacy needs of our customers and partner with geographically dispersed engineering and technical support teams to work on projects and identify solutions. You will need program management experience and business analysis expertise to understand the requirements and business drivers for Red Hat's open source solutions. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in existing and new Red Hat solutions, programs, and processes. The preferred work location is the Red Hat office in Raleigh, NC, but well-qualified, home-based candidates will be considered. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Manage and coordinate complex, real-time programs by leading and coordinating cross-functional teams to handle high-touch data security events
    • Develop and nurture key relationships with key internal stakeholders, like Legal and Information Security
    • Act as the single point of contact for technical activities, schedules, and statuses
    • Facilitate the collection of requirements, prioritization, and resources, while communicating, defining, and implementing processes
    • Record risks and escalate new risks and obstacles to program leadership stakeholders
    • Work with and clearly understand the global customer data landscape
    • Understand the risk landscape, including data vulnerability and threats
    • Understand and advocate for the voice of customer with regard to data privacy
    • Develop and nurture key relationships with stakeholders across the organization to identify sensitive data types
    • Foster an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability for departmental and cross-functional teams

    Required skills

    • 8+ years of experience delivering technology-related services or offerings
    • Outstanding collaboration, communication, facilitation, and partnering skills; ability to directly interact with globally-distributed stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds
    • Comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with team members distributed across multiple countries and time zones
    • Experience holding virtual meetings via phone and internet
    • Familiarity with different project management methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems
    • Experience working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment; ability to bring different groups of people together to collaborate in a community environment
    • Excellent risk mitigation and change management skills
    • Experience working within regulatory and compliance environments
    • Understanding of the principles of security-by-design and privacy-by-design
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, marketing, or a related area; MBA is a plus
    • Experience with agile processes and methodologies is preferred
    • Industry certification such as CIPP, CIPM, PMP or similar would be a plus
