Job summary

Red Hat is looking for a Field Readiness Manager for the Storage Business Unit to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, your goal will be to make the storage business and Sales team at Red Hat as successful as possible. You will play a strategic role in building awareness within the Red Hat ecosystem, and be responsible for increasing pipeline and revenue for the storage business. Sales Enablement is critical to the success in Red Hat’s ability to increase sales and exceed sales targets. You will work closely with storage sales leaders worldwide, and collaborate with product marketing, product management, and engineering teams to understand and identify improvements to the Red Hat Storage sales process.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product marketing managers to ensure positioning and messaging aligns to customer outcomes and market challenges
  • Develop sales content and training materials
  • Carry out role-based training sessions for relevant solutions and services
  • Work with the Campaigns team to ensure alignment with sales and partner enablement content and initiatives
  • Work with Global Sales Enablement and Development as well as Global Partner and Technical Enablement to develop field and partner communication plans and sales enablement strategies
  • Facilitate ongoing sales education that is delivered directly by Global Sales Enablement and Development, Global Partner and Technical Enablement, other internal corporate resources, and select outside experts as needed
  • Identify and coach subject matter experts and leverage those experts in sales content development and training
  • Leverage content being developed by product marketing managers, technical marketing managers, solutions architects, and others to use in training and development
  • Work with strategic partners where appropriate to align messaging and solutions
  • Create materials that can be leveraged by all relevant partners (including Channel or VARs) for their training and go-to-market efforts
  • Enable sales to have C-level storage engagements

Required skills

  • Excellent communication and creative problem-solving skills
  • 4-5 years of experience in technology sales, marketing, or business development
  • Sales support or enablement experience; experience with strategic account planning is a plus
  • Existing knowledge of storage technology, as well as the storage market and competition, is an advantage
  • Familiarity with sales processes and frameworks
  • Ability to translate technical terms and details into customer language and compelling stories
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Cross-functional experience working with engineering, product management, and marketing teams
  • Program or project management skills are a plus
