    Job summary

    Work closely with interaction and visual designers to build great user experiences for Red Hat’s offerings. The Red Hat User Experience Design team is looking for an HTML and CSS Front End Developer to join the growing team in our newly opened office in the Seaport district in Boston, MA. In this role, you will contribute to and guide the adoption of PatternFly, our open source design system. You’ll need to be creative, motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and distributed environment. As an HTML and CSS Front End Developer, you’ll also need to have experience working as a visual or interaction designer and working knowledge of JavaScript and related frameworks.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Work with UX designers to bring designs from concept to implementation
    • Write clean, responsive, and accessible HTML and CSS code
    • Develop UIs with attention to design detail, ensuring exceptional UX through
    • implementation of subtle interactions and affordances
    • Participate in the end-to-end design process from brainstorming to design
    • reviews and iteration of UI improvement

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in visual and interaction design, human
    • factors, or a related discipline with a minor or focus in computer science
    • Extensive experience building web applications using HTML5 and CSS, LESS, and SASS
    • Understanding of modern CSS development techniques like BEM, OOCSS, or
    • Atomic design
    • Ability to create robust web applications from visual concepts, wireframes, and
    • interactive product design sessions
    • Expertise with modern CSS frameworks like Bootstrap or Foundation
    • Great communication and collaboration skills; solid attention to detail
    • Experience with agile development and open source projects is a plus
