    Job summary

    Build long-lasting relationships and expand our business. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Sales Account Manager to join us. In this role, you will be assigned specific accounts. You’ll oversee all aspects of sales, including price negotiations, contract development, and order fulfillment. You'll gain understanding of customer business and technology environments and suggest solutions from the Red Hat portfolio to provide competitive advantage. As a Sales Account Manager, you’ll need to collaborate with partner sales and services teams as well as IT and business executives to ensure the delivery and sales of Red Hat’s solutions. This role can be based in Michigan, U.S. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Sell Red Hat’s solutions and services within your assigned territory
    • Create strategic and tactical plans for new business development and guide the extended sales team to maximize revenue and growth; meet performance and sales goals
    • Call prospective customers, providing technical and administrative information, demonstrations, and price quotes for our offerings
    • Forecast and close sales in line with company goals
    • Understand customer business and technology needs and communicate them to executives
    • Meet assigned sales quotas by acquiring new customer accounts and renewing and growing existing relationships

    Required skills

    • 7-10 years of account management experience with a demonstrated record of success, preferably in the software or IT industry
    • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a technical discipline
    • Solutions sales mentality in an environment with multiple solutions and services
    • Sales experience with cloud, virtualization, middleware, and emerging technologies
    • Solid understanding of the complete sales cycle management from prospecting to closing
    • Ability to work as part of a virtual sales team while demonstrating flexibility and initiative
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
