General Accountant

The Red Hat Finance team is looking for a General Accountant to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will support month-end close and reconciliation activities while working in different projects throughout the month. Our team is responsible for the North American accounting activities. You will analyze and gather data to prepare internal financial reports. You’ll also provide insight into business performance, and develop and implement accounting procedures. As a General Accountant , you will help the Consolidation team prepare consolidated financial statements.

• Support the General Ledger Accounting for Prepaids, Accruals, Fixed Assets, Intangibles, Payroll, and MDF
• Analyze account balances and submit reconciliations
• Support the month-end consolidation process
• Ensure all activities are accounted in accordance with GAAP
• Create reports to support business decisions
• Work with corporate group to guide process improvement
• Support audit requests for data as needed

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Experience with Microsoft Excel including functions like VLOOKUP
• Ability to work well in groups
• Previous experience in a large multi-country, multi-currency environment preferred
• Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, or other large ERP is a plus
