    Job summary

    The Red Hat IT Strategy and Enablement team is looking for a Senior Manager to lead our Technology Business Management Office (TBMO). In this role, you’ll lead the strategy and roadmap for the continuing adoption of TBM and the value it brings. You will build on the work done to date as it relates to TBM and our Apptio implementation, positioning leadership with the knowledge to manage and communicate the cost, quality, and value of IT Services. We’ll expect you to have a deep technology and financial management background.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Set the strategic direction of the TBMO, partnering with the IT Senior Leadership to support the overall strategic direction for IT
    • Champion and facilitate deliberate communications and change management as it relates to IT’s TBM journey, ensuring buy-in and support for the work being done
    • Partner with Finance to support the work being done in their organization, creating processes that enhance our engagement with them, and guide operational efficiencies
    • Partner with the IT Service Management and IT Portfolio Management teams to ensure synergies in the work being done across the organizations and a coordinated message to IT
    • Identify, recommend and implement analytics, reporting and insights to mature IT’s use of the TBM framework and Apptio information, optimizing IT spend, and informing technology decisions
    • Develop and implement strategy and action plans to reduce data gaps and ensure efficient and effective use of data
    • Coordinate, facilitate, and manage annual planning in conjunction with IT management and Finance
    • Advise and influence value conversations and IT spending decisions based on understanding of the TBM model, it’s implementation in Red Hat IT, IT’s strategic priorities, and Red Hat’s business priorities
    • Guide the conversations regarding tradeoffs and balancing cost, consumption, and quality to maximize IT’s agility and value add
    • Establish governance, policies, standards, practices, processes, and tools essential to monitor technology investments and provide data to the technology and business leaders helping data driven discussions and decision making

    Required skills

    • 10+ years of relevant IT or business work experience in a fast-paced environment
    • 5+ years of experience supporting, or working in IT, with understanding of IT technology
    • Bachelor's degree; MBA or master’s degree in related field preferred
    • Deep understanding of Technology Business Management framework and experience with Apptio
    • Knowledge of IT services and financial management processes and best practices like budgeting, cost allocations, capital and operating expense handling, program portfolio management, and application and infrastructure support
    • Solid leadership and organizational skills, capable of motivating and managing organizations or teams to deliver desired results
    • Demonstrated ability to consult and partner with all levels of leadership across the organization
    • Innovative thinking in the approach to the discipline
    • Ability to juggle many competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment
    • Ability to work in and manage ambiguity
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex, strategic ideas, or concepts in a business and user-friendly manner
    • Proven track record of designing and launching successful programs or projects
