    Job summary

    Help our customers invest wisely in Red Hat’s solutions that give them the ability to succeed today and position them for further success in the future. The Red Hat Public Sector Sales team is looking for an Associate Solutions Architect with experience with Linux to join us in McLean, VA. In this role, you will be the catalyst creating possibilities, solving problems, and establishing working relationships with customers. You’ll need to have a balance of serious technical expertise, passion for open source, business insight, and of the ability to identify and create technical solutions to customer business problems. As an Associate Solutions Architect, you will need excellent communication and people skills because you'll play a crucial role in the first major experience our customers have with Red Hat.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Provide technical credibility to the Red Hat Public Sector Inside Sales team
    • Discover and analyze customer business and technical needs
    • Collaborate with the sales and technical teams to bring our customers the right solutions
    • Answer technical questions from prospective customers for the Sales team
    • Architect, design, and present multi-product solutions to customers
    • Provide technical input and expertise to support RFP and RFI responses
    • Help educate the Inside Sales team and our channel ecosystem on Red Hat’s solutions

    Required skills

    • 3+ years of experience working with Linux as a system administrator; broad knowledge of related data center technologies, e.g., high availability, disaster recovery, storage, virtualization, and security
    • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and explain technical concepts to both non-technical and technical audiences
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Interest in open source technologies
    • Passionate about providing excellent customer service
    • Willingness to travel up to 25%

    The following is considered a plus:


    • Practical experience with enterprise virtualization, public cloud technologies, other Red Hat solutions, or competitive alternatives
    • Modern development skills and experience
    • Experience working with or selling to the federal government market
