    Job summary

    Red Hat’s Global Learning Services team is looking for a Senior Manager of Training Product Development to join the team in Westford, MA OR Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will manage a globally distributed team developing Red Hat’s world class training courses. You will apply your agile and DevOps knowledge to oversee multiple, concurrent projects, ensuring both the quality and velocity of the outputs. As a Senior Manager, you will work strategically, helping to design and deploy innovative training product offerings, and tactically, by managing continuous innovation and Scrum practices used for regular developing and shipping of incremental releases for multiple offerings. You’ll challenge and nurture the team while finding new ways to raise the business value we provide. You will also use your analytical skills to estimate projects, measure performance, and report to senior leadership.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Oversee the development of Red Hat’s commercial training products
    • Coach, support, retain, and grow a talented, geographically distributed, technical team
    • Define team’s KPIs and ensure the achievement of those targets
    • Maintain and communicate a product development road map
    • Use agile reporting data to estimate project development timelines, evaluate performance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
    • Hire new team members and evaluate the performance of the team; implement corrective actions when necessary
    • Communicate team contributions and keep them in line with organizational and departmental goals

    Required skills

    • 5+ years of experience with technical project leadership, managing a team of developers, technical curriculum developers, or other technical teams
    • 3+ years of experience implementing and managing agile and DevOps processes
    • Ability to lead in a meritocratic fashion by facilitating open discussion, generating alternatives, and reaching consensus on decisions
    • Prior success within a culturally and geographically diverse remote team
    • Proven experience leading projects that measurably improve the customer experience
    • Proven experience measuring and improving efficiency and quality using data-driven methodologies, including collecting and analyzing data, and graphing and presenting data effectively
    • Service-focused attitude responsive to business needs, requirements, and performance
    • Willingness and ability to make direct contributions on key strategic projects in addition to team management
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, cross functionally, and with globally distributed peers
    • Solid understanding of IT technologies, concepts, and trends

    The following will be considered a plus:

    • Previous experience in curriculum development, curriculum design, or technical training delivery
    • Previous experience as a technical practitioner: developer, Linux system administrator, database administrator
    • Knowledge and practical experience with Red Hat technologies, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
