    Job summary

    Evaluate the functionality of Red Hat CloudForms. The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a software Quality Engineer to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work as part of an international team of software engineers immersed in the latest technology within the Linux domain. You'll primarily focus on validating the Red Hat CloudForms Management Engine solution, which is based on the the upstream ManageIQ project, a hybrid-cloud virtualization manager. As a Quality Engineer, you will extend our existing test automation framework and implement new open source tools to verify the quality of Red Hat’s solutions while being introduced to innovative technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and container management.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Participate in the test planning and product planning processes
    • Develop test cases and maintain a thorough understanding of product functionality
    • Develop tests using automation infrastructure and available scripting languages
    • Deliver clear status for testing areas in a timely manner
    • Write clear and accurate bug reports
    • Help maintain some of the infrastructure environments

    Required skills

    • Professional experience with Linux or UNIX systems
    • Active scripting and programming skills using Python and Bash
    • Familiarity with virtualization and cloud computing technologies
    • Specific experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining VMware vSphere environments
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Passion for testing and examining how things work internally
    • Experience with continuous integration (CI) and developing automated tests is a plus
    • Familiarity with open source software development methodologies is a a plus
