    Job summary

    Guide the go-to-market strategy for cross-portfolio solutions and initiatives across the whole of Red Hat. The Red Hat Product Portfolio Marketing team is looking for a Product Communication Strategist for the internal teams and Products and Technology (PnT) to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you’ll join a team that plays a critical role in PnT communication, portfolio themes, field enablement, marketing content, and thought leadership, among other areas. You will manage internal communication for our PnT organization, composed of our Research and Development (RnD), Engineering, Customer Success, business units, product management, and product and technical marketing. You’ll work closely with executives and leaders across the organization, ensuring we are clearly communicating our plans, strategy, key initiatives, best practices, and successes. As a Product Communication Strategist, you will need to both emulate the Red Hat culture and know how to bring that culture to life via communication.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Develop and manage an overall communication strategy for PnT, including communication channels, frequency, goals, target audiences, and metrics of success
    • Define and manage communication mediums, including newsletter, podcasts, emails, and other content types per the communication plan or executive needs
    • Partner with senior executives to establish communication plans for each of their organizations, helping to ensure a transparent, consistent communication culture
    • Write, edit, and coach executives on all internal PnT communications, including emails, presentations, webinars, etc.
    • Manage a direct, globally distributed communications team as well as an extended virtual team of writers, editors, and communication specialists
    • Conduct internal stakeholder research and report on findings to help lead improved communications and understanding
    • Coordinate cross-organizational teams, actively ensuring that teams are synchronized concerning messaging, communication, issues, and other relevant areas
    • Align PnT internal communications with external messages, the editorial calendar, enablement, and other relevant corporate and product marketing initiatives

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing or communication or equivalent product marketing experience
    • 5-10 years of experience in product marketing and public relations; ability to understand our solutions portfolio (cloud infrastructure, application development, middleware, etc.), engineering culture, and communication needs
    • Experience in the open source and enterprise software industry
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical and business terminology into easy to understand language
    • Experience with change management communication and organizational best practices within large scale organizations
    • Ability to translate technical terms and details into customer language and compelling stories
    • Proven experience in digital marketing, including web content, social media, and digital events
    • Solid attention to detail and project management capabilities
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
    • Proven success working in a cross-matrixed organization, knowing how to socialize ideas, lead by influence, and gain support across teams
    • Great interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and ability to foster relationships across multiple departments
