    Job summary

    Promote business development activities for the Consulting Services team. The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Territory Services Manager focusing on the State and Local Government and Education (SLED) to join us in Eastern U.S. In this role, you will work in a designated sales territory and collaborate with the area sales manager and a group of Red Hat sales representatives. You'll be responsible for presales through project delivery processes, leading sales cycles, and preparing project approach documents and project proposals (statements of work - SOWs) that include business and technical requirements and appropriate solutions, schedules, delivery times, and costs. Territory Services Manager, you will also work with Red Hat’s sales representatives to guide consulting sales opportunities from qualification to close while managing all assigned projects and resources and meeting revenue, margin, and booking goals. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Grow your territory through the development of internal business partnerships with the Field Sales team and alliance and partner programs
    • Accurately and consistently provide revenue and booking forecasts for your territory
    • Design and implement effective, high-impact technical and business solutions for Red Hat's customers
    • Manage revenue and booking goals across all practices and meet margin and utilization targets
    • Ensure successful delivery of all projects

    Required skills

    • Detailed understanding of Red Hat's offerings and solutions
    • Technical background that includes architecture and technical consulting experience
    • Experience and demonstrated expertise in supporting the sales of professional services
    • Solid foundation of deep technical knowledge in enterprise architecture, application development, or infrastructure
    • Experience creating SOWs, pricing, large-scale proposal development, and customer development
    • Presales and scope management expertise
    • Experience in customer-facing positions as a professional services consultant or engineer, preferably within a technology or consulting organization
