    Job summary

    The Red Hat OpenShift Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in San Francisco, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the build, test, and release toolchain. You’ll work alongside engineers to package, run automated tests, and promote artifacts throughout the Red Hat, upstream, and partner ecosystem software development life cycles.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Guide the direction and content of continuous integration (CI) and continuous development (CD)
    • Work closely with engineering project teams to create and improve CI/CD processes
    • Use upstream and downstream toolchains to deliver production quality artifacts
    • Monitor and address issues within the CI/CD tools to improve reliability and speed
    • Collaborate in a global team environment, actively engage subject matter experts, and follow through on commitments

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or relevant experience
    • Experience with Jenkins and Ansible
    • Experience with version control systems; experience and comfort with Git is a major advantage
    • Practical experience operating in a Linux environment using the command line
    • Experience with agile and comfort with rapid iteration and fast delivery
    • Knowledge of producing images that can be used in a cloud environment
    • Knowledge of building and distributing RPMs
    • Software development experience; GoLang is a plus
