    Job summary

    The Red Hat Platform and Solutions Marketing team is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager for Red Hat OpenStack Platform to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will guide the creation and delivery of product marketing and go-to-market activities for Red Hat OpenStack Platform and infrastructure solutions. You'll impact the core messaging, content, and positioning for our success within the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and infrastructure solutions market. This is an individual contributor role, but you'll be tightly integrated into a fast-paced, collaborative environment working across the entire company. You’ll partner cross-functionally and globally with many teams, including Product Management, Strategic Marketing, Partner and Alliance marketing, Field Marketing, Sales, Services, Engineering, and across internal product teams and business partners.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Serve as the market and customer expert for Red Hat OpenStack Platform; be the subject matter expert for enablement and training activities for Sales, Pre-sales, Professional Services, and Partners
    • Collaborate with product management to ensure marketing plans align with market directions and support the product roadmap and releases
    • Create messaging, positioning, and value proposition for Red Hat OpenStack Platform and related solutions; develop messaging around customer challenges, key product and solution benefits, and competitive advantages
    • Create and guide product content for Red Hat OpenStack Platform, including editorial, thought leadership, and social media content for use in PR, AR, customer, and partner engagement
    • Work with subject matter experts to define requirements for effective marketing assets and create the content, including whitepapers, case studies, solution briefs, web content, and sales kits
    • Work with Field Marketing to develop marketing programs and themes aimed at Red Hat OpenStack Platform and infrastructure solutions
    • Define specific market sub-segments (personas, solutions opportunities etc.) within the market, and ensure that the content and marketing plan supports the correct target business opportunity
    • Coordinate with various marketing teams including Field Marketing, Corporate Marketing, and Partner Marketing to ensure successful and targeted delivery of various marketing activities
    • Coordinate cross-organizational teams, actively ensuring that teams are synchronized concerning messaging, communication, schedules, issues, and other relevant areas
    • Support customer meetings and industry event messaging, theme, and overall presence, sometimes onsite

    Required skills

    • 8+ years of software industry experience, preferably within an area of infrastructure software (OpenStack, cloud, virtualization) or system management
    • Deep knowledge of the OpenStack market including key players, market trends, key industry analysts, and technology direction
    • Understanding of open source software
    • 6+ years product marketing experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, computer science, engineering, or related area; MBA is a plus
    • Record of success in a fast moving, technical environment, including the ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
    • Metrics-focused and detail-oriented
    • Ability to develop compelling marketing programs and the requisite materials (themes, content, assets) associated with the program
    • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills with the ability to explain complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communications
    • Comfortable working with and presenting to all levels of an organization
    • Experience working effectively in an influence-driven, cross-functional environment
    • Ability to be meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex environment
    • Experience with social media and digital marketing
    • Solid knowledge of content creation following a buyer's journey
    • Willingness to travel
