    Job summary

    Help grow and develop our relationship with key federal system integrators (SIs). The Red Hat Public Sector team is looking for a Sales Account Manager to join us in Tysons Corner, VA. In this role, you will expand beyond Red Hat's existing customer base within an assigned territory, sell consulting services and training to encourage the fast adoption of Red Hat's core competencies, and cross-sell all Red Hat’s solutions. You’ll need to have a combination of customer-facing solutions development skills and technical knowledge of enterprise software including a core understanding of operating systems, middleware deployments, system management solutions, and cloud computing.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Serve as a trusted adviser for senior IT and business executives within key accounts; create long-term partnerships with customers
    • Work closely with account solutions architects and solutions specialists to identify key projects, programs, and offices to persuade toward purchasing Red Hat’s solutions
    • Grow existing pipeline with a focus on emerging technologies
    • Manage the account planning process and implementation of the team's strategic plans
    • Develop solutions-based strategies within key accounts to establish proofs of concepts and pilot implementations of Red Hat's core competencies
    • Work closely with product, Product Engineering, Professional Services, and Product Support teams to ensure a premium customer experience with Red Hat’s solutions

    Required skills

    • 8+ years of field and solutions B2B sales experience with focus on selling enterprise software solutions to federal Sis as the end customer
    • Proven record of working closely with customers to produce solutions that exceed their business expectations
    • Extensive background in consultative customer engagement with either a provider of enterprise software or within the sales division of an enterprise software reseller
    • Broad experience with the federal SIs’ procurement process
    • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large companies
    • Solutions sales mentality in an environment with multiple offerings and services
    • Ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams to achieve success for customers
    • Balance of strategic and tactical skills
    • Willingness to travel weekly to customers locations throughout the United States
