    Job summary

    Help us guide the go-to-market strategy for the innovative solutions and cross-Red Hat initiatives. The Red Hat Portfolio Product marketing team is looking for a Senior Principal Product Marketing Manager to join us. In this role, you’ll join our Emerging Technologies team and is focused on future technologies and solutions around Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), IoT, Blockchain, and other related areas. Partnering closely with other product marketing teams and our Office of Technology, you will lead market research and analysis, positioning and messaging, point of views, field enablement, and other initiatives as needed. We’ll need you to work successfully across all areas of the organization, from Engineering to Marketing, as well as open source communities. You will need a combination of technical acumen with marketing expertise and love both the research and go-to-market aspects of product marketing to succeed.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Conduct primary research in the global market to identify trends and market opportunity to shape our go-to-market strategy and positioning
    • Work closely with analyst relations to leverage third-party expertise and research
    • Create messaging, positioning, and value proposition for leading modern solutions, developing a Red Hat point of view and platform for the related industries
    • Be the subject matter expert for product marketing in AI, ML, IoT, and other related areas
    • Manage and develop content for the product marketing team and area experts like the CTO, across editorial, thought leadership, and social media for use in PR, AR, customer, and partner engagement
    • Work with subject matter experts to define requirements for effective marketing assets and content, e.g. whitepapers, presentations, case studies, and others to be used globally
    • Work with strategic partners where appropriate to align messaging and solutions; create materials that can be used by all relevant partners for their marketing efforts.
    • Define specific market sub-segments (personas, solutions opportunities, etc.) and ensure that the content and marketing plan supports the correct target business opportunity
    • Coordinate with various marketing teams including field marketing, corporate marketing, and partner marketing to ensure successful and targeted implementation of various marketing activities
    • Guide enablement and training activities for sales, pre-sales, professional services, as well as for partners
    • Support customer meetings and content
    • Coordinate cross-organizational teams, ensuring that teams are synchronized concerning messaging, communication, schedules, issues, and other relevant areas

    Required skills

    • 5+ years of marketing experience within the technology or software industries   
    • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing or equivalent product marketing experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to translate technical terms and details into customer language and compelling stories
    • Experience in digital marketing, including web content, blog posts, social media and search marketing
    • Solid attention to detail and project management skills
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
    • Demonstrated success working in a matrixed organization, knowing how to socialize ideas and gain support across teams
    • Great interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and ability to foster relationships across multiple departments
    • Understanding and experience in fields like AI, IoT, ML, IoT, or Big Data is a plus
    • Previous experience working with open source communities or technologies is an advantage
