    Job summary

    Develop and maintain offerings with impact on business. The Red Hat’s Developer Tools team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will work as part of a team tasked with building and maintaining a portfolio of offerings that help developers build applications with containers in the cloud and on-premises. You’ll focus on Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings like Red Hat OpenShift.io, container-focused tools like Eclipse Che and CDK, desktop tools like Developer Studio, and our Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) developer tools. You’ll become a member of a collaborative team that values initiative and contribution across our customer accounts, business partners, and open source communities. As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for the quality and pace of decision-making within the Developer Tools product team and work closely with engineering, marketing, and field teams. You’ll need to have experience with developer tooling, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings, and containers, deep curiosity about the underlying technology, humility about the details, ability to develop solid partnerships with engineering teams, and a voracious learning appetite.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Oversee the solutions life cycle, anticipate problems, and work to resolve issues and roadblocks quickly
    • Work directly with engineering, marketing, and sales teams to make product goals clear and establish the go-to-market strategy
    • Collaborate with product managers on other offerings to ensure alignment between the teams, both from a technical and messaging perspective
    • Participate in the launches of our offerings, ensuring that both messaging and timing have the greatest possible impact
    • Work with other leaders in the organization to ensure that public launch activities have measurable and positive outcomes
    • Work with the management team to set metrics that will guide success of the offering and the upstream project
    • Maintain a broad knowledge of the market and open source projects related to software development and identify potential candidates to be brought into the Red Hat portfolio
    • Ensure that the quality and pace of decision-making continues to increase and that the whole product team (product management, engineering, product marketing, etc…) are bought in and implemented in accordance with the vision and decisions made

    Required skills

    • 5+ years of product development experience in a related market
    • Knowledge of market and industry, including all aspects of development and development methodologies
    • Demonstrable broad understanding of software development tooling topics, including application life cycle management, developer productivity, software quality, release management, and application monitoring
    • Excellent communication and networking skills
    • Willingness to travel up to 20%
    • Ability to motivate team members
