    Job summary

    Manage the team that designs and builds pages for redhat.com, as well as other sites and web applications. The User Experience (UX) Design and Development team in IT is looking for a Manager for a team of 15-20 people to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you'll be part business analyst, part delivery lead, and part scrum master. You'll need to have solid agile project management experience, experience in delivering projects, and excellent communication skills. As a Manager, you will regularly communicate with business leaders on status, risks, plans, and changes in strategy.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Manage team of UX designers and front-end developers
    • Work with stakeholders to determine digital strategy
    • Develop digital roadmap and prioritize initiatives
    • Lead cross-departmental web strategy for external style guide and pattern-based templates
    • Act as a knowledgeable resource on the Agile methodology; effectively apply knowledge to projects and enforce project standards and team norms
    • Provide performance and development coaching and feedback for team members
    • Lead reviews with the team and key stakeholders, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and design feedback
    • Track the exact status of all projects and deliverables for the team
    • Work with team to continuously update dates, scope, status, and documentation so that all projects are well understood by management and stakeholders
    • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the design architecture that impacts the teams’ deliverables
    • Bring excellent insight into new projects around dependencies and potential issues, influence the design of projects, and rapidly identify and resolve technical dependencies and risks

    Required skills

    • 10+ years of design and front-end development experience for a corporate web site
    • Knowledge of web standards, information architecture, usability, and taxonomy
    • Knowledge of the UX Design process, from wireframe to design comps through the front-end development process
    • Agile experience required; knowledge of Rally agile tracking tool is a plus
    • Organized and highly detail-oriented with the ability to coordinate small and large design projects; ability to organize and plan work on your own with little direction
    • Ability to meet milestones and deadlines; ability to motivate others and hold others accountable for deliverables
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills
    • Solid organizational, customer service, and communication skills
    • Flexible team player with a “get-it-done” attitude
    • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities and switch effectively between different activities and teams
    • Drupal experience and front-end development experience is a plus
