    Job summary

    Support the team’s operational and project implementation goals. The Open Source and Standards (OSAS) team within the Office of the CTO is looking for a Project Manager to join us. In this role, you will help establish group norms for internal project management, focusing on refining and improving communication to articulate organizational initiatives and indicating progress across OSAS. You’ll work under the direction of the Senior Director and collaborate with multiple team associates, while shifting between the big picture and the small, but crucial details. As a Project Manager, you’ll need to be comfortable with change and complexity while playing a key role in further developing structure and communications for key initiatives within a highly distributed team. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Collaborate with multiple team associates to create plans and schedules, ensuring successful initiative outcomes
    • Bring organizational skills and processes to a multi-faceted environment; maintain schedules and project status updates and track team goals and metrics
    • Introduce new ideas and processes as needed to improve performance and productivity
    • Serve as a point of contact for CTO’s Chief of Staff for team alignment on best organizational practices

    Required skills

    • 3 years of open source community-related experience
    • 3 years of project or program management experience, or equivalent
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Familiarity with open source tools and methods
    • Experience managing change and delivering results in highly distributed teams
