    Job summary

    The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an Application Platform Sales Specialist to join our team in the Southeastern United States. In this role, you will support Red Hat's strategy by enabling customers to define, develop, and deploy modernized, agile applications. You'll be responsible for identifying and building strategic relationships with executives and key stakeholders to craft solutions and strategies that promote our portfolio of container-native solutions including Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP), Red Hat OpenShift Application Runtimes, workflow automation, application integration, and API management. As an Application Platform Sales Specialist, you will work with customers and enterprise sales teams to guide the adoption and growth of Red Hat's OpenShift Container Platform. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Work with the enterprise sales teams to plan the overall middleware and OpenShift by Red Hat sales strategy within a set of defined accounts
    • Guide the customer from their initial adoption of basic application server and hybrid cloud technology and grow the account to include workflow automation and decision management platforms, microservices, enterprise messaging, container technologies, API management, and development frameworks
    • Gain the trust of senior IT and key stakeholders within target accounts and create long-term partnerships
    • Work with enterprise sales teams to ensure that Red Hat JBoss Middleware and related solutions become the first choice for our strategic customers
    • Guide customers and enterprise sales teams through the sales and adoption of Red Hat's OpenShift Container Platform

    Required skills

    • 8+ years of experience in a solutions sales role
    • 4+ years of experience focused on enterprise middleware like Red Hat JBoss Middleware, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, MuleSoft, TIBCO, Apigee, Docker, Mesosphere, and Pivotal
    • Background in consultative customer engagement with a middleware provider or on the sales team of a middleware reseller
    • Broad technical experience with enterprise middleware technologies
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to executives at large firms
    • Ability to sell solutions in a multiproduct environment
    • Proven ability to work with global cross-functional teams and achieve success for customers
    • Balance of strategic and tactical skills
    • Master's degree or equivalent is a plus
