    Job summary

    Red Hat’s Global Learning Services (GLS) team is looking for a Manager focused on content services to join us in Westford, MA or Raleigh, NC. In this role, you’ll need to be a revenue-oriented innovator with a solid grasp of the latest learning and development trends and next-generation training solutions for customers. You’ll manage a globally distributed team supporting the development of Red Hat’s excellent training courses and self-paced offerings. You’ll lead a team including instructional designer, technical editors, desktop publisher, and technical graphic designer, who provide advice, editing, and graphic design services to a team of course authors. You’ll also manage a team of videographer and editors who film, edit, and deploy our award-winning video-based courses. As a Manager for Learning Content Services, you will work strategically, helping to design and deploy innovative training offerings, and tactically, by managing continuous innovation and scrum practices used for regular developing and shipping of incremental releases for multiple offerings. You’ll challenge and nurture the team while finding new ways to raise the business value we provide. You’ll also use your analytical skills to estimate projects, measure performance, and report to senior leadership.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Help lead the design, definition, and implementation of Red Hat’s customer self-paced training offerings
    • Oversee the content services provided to the authors of Red Hat’s commercial training offerings
    • Oversee the development of our video-based training offerings, continuing to provide innovative video deliverables
    • Coach, support, retain, and grow a talented, geographically distributed team
    • Define team’s KPIs and ensure the achievement of these targets
    • Maintain and communicate a video-based development roadmap
    • Hire new team members and evaluate the performance of the team; implement corrective actions when necessary
    • Communicate team contributions and keep them in line with organizational and team goals

    Required skills

    • 5+ years of experience with project leadership, managing a team of instructional designers and technical editors
    • 5+ years of experience in curriculum development, curriculum design, or technical training delivery
    • Ability to lead in a meritocratic fashion by facilitating open discussion, generating alternatives, and reaching consensus on decisions
    • Prior success within a culturally and geographically diverse remote team
    • Proven experience leading projects that measurably improving the customer experience
    • Proven experience measuring and improving efficiency and quality using data-driven methodologies, including collecting and analyzing data and graphing and presenting data effectively
    • Service-focused attitude responsive to business needs, requirements, and performance
    • Willingness and ability to make direct contributions on key strategic projects in addition to team management
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, cross-functionally, and with globally distributed peers
    • Solid understanding of content development and video-based training technologies, concepts, and trends
    • Experience implementing and managing agile and DevOps processes
    • Knowledge of and practical experience in the IT industry are a plus
