    Job summary

    The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an Associate Solutions Architect to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you’ll act as the front-line catalyst creating possibilities, solving problems, and establishing working relationships with customers. You'll help our customers invest wisely in an infrastructure that gives them maximum flexibility in the future, helping them run faster and more efficiently. This requires a balance of serious technical expertise, passion for open source, and a thorough understanding of business processes and how to identify and solve issues at the enterprise level. You'll need to have excellent communication and people skills, because you'll be involved in the first in-depth experience our customers have with Red Hat.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Present Red Hat solutions and technical proposals to potential customers on complex operating systems
    • Design value-driven architectures; explain the application and return on investment of those solutions
    • Support the sales team by delivering compelling recommendations that result in the closing of new sales
    • Lead the gathering of architecture, design, and presentation of solutions to meet customer needs
    • Ensure revenue quota, deployment, and service objectives are met while maintaining prospect and customer satisfaction
    • Prepare detailed product specifications and implement detailed customer installation plans
    • Act as the technical point of contact for prospects, customers, and the sales team
    • Provide follow-up support when distributing technical information on specific applications

    Required skills

    • 1-2 years of experience as a sales engineer architecting and implementing Linux or UNIX software solutions
    • Great communication and technical skills
    • Demonstrated track record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and CXO levels within organizations
    • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or get certified within 90 days of hire
    • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about open source technologies and community-based development
    • Solid knowledge of UNIX and Linux systems, preferably in Red Hat platform solutions like Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Network Satellite, and other related technologies
