    Job summary

    Red Hat is looking for a Principal Technical Marketing Manager to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will create and deliver technical marketing assets that shape technical audiences to purchase or influence the purchase of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). You'll focus your efforts toward blogs, videos, and demos that are viewed by prospective customers, and may also be required to help in more specialized efforts like helping close a sale for a specific customer. As a Principal Technical Marketing Manager, you will have significant technical sales enablement responsibility, including developing technical training materials, demos, and sales tools that are used by solutions architects, consultants, and partner pre-sales teams. You'll also help influence the product direction of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) by internally communicating requirements and opportunities learned through customer interactions.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Create and deliver external content like demos, blogs, tweets, how-to videos, papers, articles, etc.
    • Create and deliver internal content like technical selling materials
    • Coordinate other resources across Red Hat to create and deliver content as needed
    • Deliver impactful presentations at key industry and Red Hat events to relevant audiences
    • Train solutions architects and other technical field personnel, as well as partner technical personnel, on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and other associated products
    • Conduct competitive analysis of both commercial solutions and open source projects that compete against Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
    • Communicate requirements and product improvement opportunities to relevant product stakeholders such as product management and engineering

    Required skills

    • Extensive technical background with ideally 8-10 years of software industry experience
    • Expertise in Linux, public cloud (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure) virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere or Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, and systems management
    • Demonstrated understanding of what it takes to motivate technical audiences and the ability to translate that understanding into impactful implementation that converts prospect awareness and preference into revenue
    • Ability to create high-quality, compelling technical marketing content
    • Charismatic personality with excellent presentation skills, with the ability to excite technical audiences
    • Track record of success in a fast-moving, technical environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work in an influence-driven and cross-functional environment
