    Job summary

    The Red Hat Customer Platform Tooling team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will help us build, test, and maintain software tools related to the production and publication of Red Hat's documentation suite. You'll also develop new services and capabilities to support the Red Hat Customer Portal. You’ll need to have solid understanding of microservices architectures, agile software methodologies, and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) practices. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop code using Python, JavaScript and other languages, and troubleshoot issues across multi-component systems. This is a position for someone who values open culture and open source, thrives on taking on new challenges, enjoys working as part of a fast-moving distributed team, and has initiative to identify and solve problems.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Design, build, and maintain services related to the publication of Red Hat's documentation to the Red Hat Customer Portal
    • Interact with a variety of local and remote stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate decisions
    • Contribute to the improvement of the software development process with the rest of the team
    • Develop automated test suites primarily using Python and JavaScript
    • Regularly collaborate with a team of globally-distributed engineers and members of engineering management
    • Design, build, and maintain services related to the publication of Red Hat's documentation to the Red Hat Customer Portal

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a technology-related discipline or recent relevant experience
    • 5+ years of experience in software development and engineering
    • 3+ years of web development experience
    • 3+ years of JavaScript front-end development experience using AngularJS
    • 3+ years of Python development experience  
    • Experience with Java or JVM-based development experience using PHP or Ruby
    • Web application testing experience using WebDriver
    • Understanding of software development life cycle SDLC and agile processes
