    Job summary

    The Red Hat North American Public Sector Operations team is looking for an enthusiastic Sales Operations Analyst to perform sales analysis and support functions for the Sales team in McLean, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for liaising with managers and sales representatives to compile detailed booking forecasts and sales metrics. You’ll take initiative in working with Global Analytics, Finance, and IT departments to lead projects that develop repeatable and scalable processes and system logic for sales reporting. Other duties will include compiling, analyzing, and interpreting sales bookings data across all channels, creating business plans and dashboards, and participating in various structured and ad hoc planning and analysis projects.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Build and manage sales reports and dashboards
    • Compile, analyze, and interpret sales bookings data
    • Provide analytical support and generate reporting for key sales and territory metrics
    • Manage and organize folders, reports, and dashboards in Salesforce.com
    • Engage in data cleansing activities to ensure sales data is consistent and accurate for management reporting
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for the sales teams’ reporting, planning, and strategic analysis support

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, or statistics
    • Advanced experience with spreadsheets (pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc.)
    • Basic understanding of, experience with, and background in Salesforce.com or similar CRM tools
    • Enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and team player who is also focused and diligent on delivering results
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated solid customer service and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced environment
    • Ready to consistently work extended hours during periods of high demand – quarter or year end
