    Job summary

    Manage Red Hat’s involvement with Boston-area universities and the research projects we promote there, from undergraduate projects to PhDs. The Red Hat Office of the CTO is looking for a Senior Program Manager to join us in Boston, MA. In this role, you’ll need to have 4-6 years project management experience or equivalent and have demonstrated ability to manage a complex program with many deadlines and variables. You will interact and negotiate with university professors, administrators, and students and motivate Red Hat’s associates to volunteer for mentoring, guest lectures, workshops, and other opportunities in the university. Because you’ll serve as the first and most important contact many students and faculty will have with Red Hat, you’ll need to be personable and well spoken and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. As a Senior Program Manager, you will deliver frequent reports on the status of the program at many levels of detail.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Manage undergraduate projects and outreach with Boston-area universities
    • Sync regularly with our other project coordinators worldwide to take advantage of opportunities for collaboration
    • Generate regular reports on project status and public content about the projects our undergraduates are involved in

    Required skills

    • 4-6 years of project management or equivalent experience
    • Solid record of managing successful programs with many participants
    • Proven ability to motivate engineers and students
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Mentoring and coaching experience is a plus
