    Job summary

    The Red Hat Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence team is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join us in Boston, MA. In this role, you'll contribute to the development and deployment of services and tools to analyze, manipulate, and visualize data. You will also implement automated operations as part of the analytics, machine learning and AI platform built on OpenShift and Kubernetes. You’ll need to have passion for technology and development balanced with the responsibility of prioritizing work for team members and contributing to the future of AI at Red Hat. You'll need to be able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes chaotic environment, with the goal of making our end users and customers more effective.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Work with the team to identify and provide the necessary analytic components for the project platform
    • Develop continuous integration (CI) and deployment (CD) scripts to deploy and maintain the platform in multiple environments
    • Communicate with other Red Hat engineers, product managers, and management across the globe
    • Prototype ideas and communicate results
    • Document code and systems throughout the development life cycle
    • Deliver demonstrations and technical presentations to a varied audience
    • Work in a fast-paced environment
    • Communicate with developers and end users through IRC, forums, and email

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or other related discipline
    • 9+ years of relevant development or DevOps experience
    • Ability to quickly learn and use new tools and technologies
    • Experience with source code control tools like Git, GitHub, GitLab, etc.
    • Advanced scripting abilities in Java, Python, shell, Bash, etc.
    • Demonstrated experience with the Linux operating system
    • Excellent system understanding and troubleshooting capabilities
    • Solid innovation skills and a passion for technology
    • Ability to work on your own in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent English language skills

    The following is considered a plus:

    • Familiarity with Ansible and Python machine learning libraries
    • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes and Docker
    • Experience with big data tools like Kafka, S3, Spark, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Fluentd, Rsyslog, Hadoop, Hive, and Atlas
