    Job summary

    The Red Hat User Experience Design (UXD) team is looking for a Build Engineer to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will provide support for our front-end development engineers who implement the user experience vision of our interaction designers. You'll need to be both creative and motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced, distributed environment.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Maintain internal build systems for common library release
    • Perform patch and security upgrades for public facing blog, forum, and websites
    • Analyze library dependencies and provide recommendations when major and minor security issues are found
    • Support design and developer teams with infrastructure setup requests for user testing, product server deployment for shared API usage to support UXD front-end development model, and new product builds integration with Red Hat common continuous integration (CI) and deployment (CD) offering
    • Analyze released packages and libraries to ensure size and reliability standards are met
    • Assist with front-end development as able for PatternFly components and integration of these components with solutions
    • Research and recommend improvements in build and deployment systems as well as developer working habits to continually improve CI/CD maturity
    • Coordinate with internal Quality Engineering (QE) teams to build standards for quality metrics and ensure these are met
    • Improve test infrastructure for released systems by coordinating with QE teams and adding necessary build infrastructure to enable developers

    Required skills

    • Experience with build pipelines like Jenkins ,Travis, CircleCI
    • Experience with architecting and supporting CI/CD delivery systems for complex software
    • Release management experience preferably with NPM
    • Docker and Docker file authorizing expertise
    • Kubernetes knowledge and experience
    • Enterprise software setup and configuration
    • Bash and shell scripting skills
    • JavaScript experience
