    Job summary

    Help build the new versions of virtualization, container, and storage solutions for the Red Hat solution portfolio. The Red Hat Cloud Platforms team is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join us in Westford, MA. In this highly visible role, you will be a key technical leader and business driver on Container-native Virtualization and related initiatives that form the basis of Red Hat’s vision to deliver the Ultimate Hybrid Cloud. Your mission will be to work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement on a roadmap for virtualization solutions and Red Hat’s portfolio integrations based on sound and nuanced customer, market, and ecosystem use cases. You'll help define Red Hat’s virtualization story, roadmap and release planning, portfolio and ecosystem integrations, and go-to-market strategies. You will also be empowered to work with customers, industry analysts, open source communities, and internal stakeholders to define market problems to be solved, and how these problems are solved across Red Hat’s enterprise-level portfolio.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Lead technical product management on strategy and delivery of Red Hat Virtualization, focused on supporting and growing current business and install base
    • Provide technical leadership on Red Hat solutions portfolio and ecosystem integrations; develop and maintain a strategic roadmap and delivery plan in support of solving market and customer problems
    • Manage virtualization related storage requirements, features, functionality, and contributions to upstream Kubernetes needed in support of downstream Red Hat Container-native Virtualization initiative
    • Be the internal and external champion for Container-native Virtualization and Red Hat Virtualization as Red Hat evolves in our vision to deliver the Ultimate Hybrid Cloud; be a key thought leader and presenter to your peers, customers, at industry events, and via unbounded social media
    • Gather use cases and product requirements based on current customer problems, requests and support issues, market trends, competitive alternatives, and growth opportunities
    • Define and document market problems and opportunities and promote persona, user stories, and business cases as part of the Red Hat portfolio specification and socialization process
    • Influence and collaborate with other product managers to align roadmaps to ensure portfolio and customer success
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Engineering, Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) teams to determine product priorities, plan product releases, and maintain product roadmaps
    • Work closely with the Product Marketing team to develop positioning and go-to-market strategy; act as an evangelist to inform and educate the Red Hat field and user community
    • Develop and maintain solid relationships and stay in regular communication with Sales, Professional Services, Quality Engineering, Field Engineering, Documentation, and CEE teams

    Required skills

    • 5-10 years of experience as a technical or business product manager for open source or enterprise software products
    • Experience with Infrastructure software including virtualization, containers, private cloud, cloud management platform, and replicated storage
    • Demonstrated track record of shaping and motivating others without direct authority
    • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    The following will be considered a major plus:

    • Experience with Red Hat Virtualization or other enterprise-level virtualization solutions
    • Community involvement with Kubernetes, KubeVirt, OpenStack, or oVirt projects
    • Prior success in shaping and delivering cross-portfolio and ecosystem integrations
