    Job summary

    The Red Hat Product Management team is looking for a Product Manager to join us in Boston, MA. In this role, you will take ownership of Red Hat's Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) offering. You will work with the engineering and other product teams to help define a roadmap to deliver a FaaS capability for the Red Hat OpenShift platform and integrate it with other offerings and services. You'll engage with upstream communities, customers, and partners to track the evolution of an open source, hybrid cloud FaaS offering. As a Product Manager, you will define the roadmap, as well as identify and prioritize customer use cases and product requirements while leading your team and associates towards the completion of the platform. You will also also work with other teams at Red Hat who depend on the FaaS capability.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Own the Red Hat OpenShift Cloud Functions strategy, including cross-product integration, influence developer experience, and value-add features
    • Collect and document input from solution teams, developers, customers, community members, and other stakeholders to understand developer and customer needs and develop strategy and roadmaps for our offerings
    • Prioritize and document requirements, epics, and user stories
    • Communicate the overall FaaS strategy internally to product, sales, and marketing teams and externally to the public through marketing events, conferences, user groups, and customer engagements
    • Define the roadmap, identify, and prioritize customer use cases and product requirements while leading your team members and associates towards the completion of the platform
    • Coordinate with Red Hat OpenShift Application Runtimes product management to align FaaS features with features common to all application runtimes

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a related field
    • 3-5+ years of software development experience or a solid understanding of software development in general
    • 3+ years of experience with enterprise software product management
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Willingness to travel 10-15% to planned meetings, customer engagements, or conferences

    The following are considered a plus:

    • Practical FaaS experience, for example with AWS Lambda, Azure Cloud Functions, Google Cloud Functions, Serverless Framework, Apache OpenWhisk, or Fission.io
    • Knowledge of container technology, Kubernetes, Istio, Knative, and Red Hat OpenShift
    • Knowledge of messaging technologies and event-driven systems
    • Experience with open source technologies and business models
